While the clinical informatics field has matured, a gap still exists between data collection methods for clinical care and clinical research needs, making efforts to bridge data from these sources challenging, time consuming and prone to error. In an industry where it typically takes $2.6 billion dollars and average 10-15 years to bring a therapy to market, driving interoperability between clinical care and research data can be a path toward decreasing spend and shortening this runway. This panel will highlight how to best bridge the clinical and research informatics domains to improve experiences in clinical research and ultimately benefit the patient. Speakers Peter Embi, President & CEO, Regenstrief Institute Charles Jaffe, Chief Executive Officer, Health Level Seven (HL7) International Robert Goodwin, Vice President, Head of Operations, Center of Excellence, Pfizer, ILT TransCelerate Biopharma Inc. Amy Abernethy, MD, PhD, Principal Deputy Commissioner of Food and Drugs and Acting Chief Information Officer, U.S. Food and Drug Administration This session is the first in a three-part series, The Digital Core Competencies: Clinical Research Informatics for the Pharma Industry, exploring the intersection of the pharma workforce with clinical informatics and research. Each webinar features a fireside chat with an opportunity for audience questions. Attendees will be awarded certification of completion from Duke University School of Medicine MMCi.
